Dear Boston
Dear Boston,
Please stop complaining about the Boston Red Sox! We’ve heard complaining for around 100 years from you now and it is recently starting to get old. I’ll give you some complaining in the past, but in the present you have no reason to be upset. Alright, they didn’t make the playoffs this season, but this is legitimately the first time in years. Not to mention the Sox have two World Series wins in the past seven years. Do you have any idea what my Cubs nation would do for just a winning season? It’s been 104 years since we last won the World Series, that’s a longer drought then what you were encountering when you won your title in 2004, yet you continued to complain. Then, three years later, you won again, and what does the nation get in return? We here nothing but complaints each year you come up short. The Red Sox had no reason to fire Terry Francona, the man has brought you multiple winning seasons, playoff appearances, and World Series titles. We already grabbed a new president from the Sox in Theo Epstein. I wouldn’t have been surprised or upset if Theo decided to bring in Francona. Instead, we grabbed a hitting coach from Milwaukee, but that’s beside the point. As Boston continues their self-imposed destruction, the Cubs seem to be getting the right things done. We hired a new lead man, a new manager, and are cleaning house with the players, making room for new improvements. Maybe this is signaling a shift in power in the MLB, a shift from the East Coast to the Midwest. Perhaps the Cubs could soon become the perennial power that the hierarchy of the AL East has so consistently enjoyed in recent memory.
